Coronavirus (COVID-19) Infection Prevention & Control Policy For Sofia Rose Beauty Salon

All of us have been affected by the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, I have put together this policy to hopefully reassure you that when attending your appointment with Sofia Rose Beauty, you can be confident that full measures are in place to protect you as well as me.

Offering these treatments within my home and having my family potentially more exposed to risk, you can guarantee no corners will ever be missed.

For the foreseeable only the beauty room and downstairs loo will be available to go in, the rest of the house will be closed off. I know in the past, children have been welcomed to play in the conservatory or watch a movie in the lounge, but to minimise risk, I will no longer be able to offer this.

I have missed being able to offer you the treatments that I know you love, and I am looking forward to seeing you again as soon as possible.

My priority is to keep you as safe as possible, and prior to re-opening my treatment room, I have implemented a number of changes which I would like to make you aware of. During the time I have been shut, I have completed several Coronavirus (COVID-19) Infection Prevention and Control courses and taken part in a number of webinars and have updated the salons risk assessment, to cover COVID 19 and from the back of these have made some changes in the way that I operate that you will notice when you next visit.

Booking Appointments

If I feel ill or have symptoms of COVlD-19, I will self-isolate immediately which may mean that I have to cancel your appointment at short notice. I appreciate that this may be inconvenient but it is done entirely for your own safety. If your appointment is cancelled you will be able to re-book again at a time and date to suit you.

If you or any of the people you live with feel ill or display any symptoms of COVlD-19 – please advise us as soon as possible and DO NOT COME TO THE SALON FOR YOUR APPOINTMENT.

Visiting Sofia Rose Beauty

For your safety and to maintain social distancing, I ask that you attend your appointments as close to the appointment time as possible. Please do not turn up early for appointments as this may mean that you come into contact with other clients who are just leaving. If you see anyone is in the treatment room, please may I ask you stay in your car or outside until you see them leave.

Good levels of hygiene and sanitation have always been vitally important to my business, but I have increased the frequency of cleaning in the salon including making sure that the front door handle, toilets, door handles, card reader etc. are wiped clean using disinfectant products between each client.

As previously always done, the surfaces in my treatment room along with tools and equipment will be disinfected or sterilised in line with the specific manufacturers’ instructions for your safety, before and after every client as well as the treatment chair to reduce cross contamination on clothing.

Wherever possible I utilise environmentally, friendly, single use items during a treatment that will be disposed of safely after use in order to protect you from cross infection.

When entering, please may I ask you to put your belongings down, a large plastic tub will be provided for these to be put into. You will have access to soap and hot water to wash your hands, along with fresh paper towels for you to dry your hands and dispose of in a bin. I will also have hand sanitiser available for you to use when you come into the salon. Please may I ask once you have washed your hands not to touch your belongings, e.g. phone until you are leaving, otherwise you will be required to clean your hands again, please also enter with minimum personal belongings.

I understand and will not be offended if you wish to wear a facemask or wear disposable gloves when you visit the salon and during your treatment. Face masks will be provided by me for you to wear, if you do not have your own.

Please don’t be offended, as I will be using personal protective equipment (PPE) during your visit and during your treatment. This will include disposable gloves/face visor /aprons.

I can confirm that the laundering of salon towels and uniforms is a priority, I can assure you that all salon laundry is washed at 60 degrees C.

All disposable items are bagged and safely removed from the treatment area every day.

My treatments

I have carried out a risk assessment on all treatments and I am confident that I can continue to provide these safely.

During your treatment

I understand the importance of hand hygiene and will ensure like I have always done, that I will wash my hands in according with NHS recommendations before the start of your treatment, followed by hand sanitiser.

I will endeavour to make your treatment as safe, comfortable and enjoyable as possible. I want you to feel relaxed, so you can to enjoy the’ much needed’ time out for you whilst at your appt. If you have any concerns about your treatments please let me know and I will do what I can to ease your worrying.

After the treatment

You can still pay by cash however I would ask if you can come with the correct amount where you can and place the money in the tin that will be provided. You can pay for your treatment via card as I have a card reader.

All of these procedures have been implemented for your safety and mine. I will continue to take advice from the Government and the NHS regarding safe practice and will amend them as necessary in the upcoming weeks, so some of this document may change.

Thank you for your understanding.

Love Jen
